The BoardGareth Morgan Kiwisaver Limited was established in 2006 in response to the Government’s KiwiSaver initiative.

Gareth worked for the Reserve Bank of New Zealand in the early 1980s before founding Infometrics Limited, a private economic forecasting and consulting business, in 1983. The company has developed into one of New Zealand’s leading independent economics businesses. In 2000, Gareth established Gareth Morgan Investments Limited, a personal portfolio investment business, which has grown to be one of the biggest private businesses of its type in New Zealand. He is a director of Infometrics Limited; he was a director of Trade Me Limited until 2006; and he was a director of the listed company Property For Industry Limited from 1994 - 2008. Gareth has been involved with investment management since 1990 when he developed a portfolio management advisory service for Infometrics Limited’s clients operating in the funds management industry. This service became the basis of GMI*. |

ANDREW GAWITH (EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR)

Andrew worked in Britain for four years before joining Gareth Morgan to found Infometrics Limited in 1983. Since 2000, Andrew has been the managing director of the business, growing the forecasting client base to around 100 of New Zealand’s leading businesses. He regularly presents in-house forecast seminars to many of these clients and often consults on a broad range of areas, including business strategy development and government policy.
He is a significant stakeholder in GMI* and is currently leading the KiwiSaver project. |

CHARLES PURCELL (INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR)

Charles joined KPMG Wellington as a partner in 1989 having been a partner since 1980 in predecessor firms Grant Thornton and then Ernst and Young. At KPMG he was responsible for a portfolio of clients primarily in the owner/managed and small/medium enterprise (SME) sectors of business.
In addition, Charles was responsible for establishing a financial planning division within KPMG, which, due to strategic decisions, was eventually sold to AXA New Zealand.
Charles retired from KPMG in March 2004 to found Business Valuation and Forensic Accounting Limited. This business specialises in providing independent advice on business and/or shareholding values and also provides advice relating to business structures, shareholder agreements, and sale and purchase arrangements. |

SAM MORGAN (INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR)
Sam founded online auction website Trade Me in 1999. Trade Me became New Zealand‘s largest Internet business and in 2006 was sold to Australian media giant Fairfax.
Since the sale of Trade Me, Sam has invested directly in a number of early-stage businesses. Sam is also a director of Xero (listed on the NZX in 2007), Sonar6 and Visfleet.
Sam has the majority of the proceeds from the sale of the Trade Me business invested with Gareth Morgan Investments.
